چکیده

Modelling distributed systems requires notions as locations, communication among the distributed processes, and resource access. To express time constraints for such systems, we have introduced timed distributed π-calculus called tDπ as an extension of the π-calculus with locations, types and timers. Timers define both timeouts for communication channels and timeouts for resources. We define the operational semantics of tDπ by using a reduction relation. We introduce and study several timed barbed bisimulations in the framework of tDπ. The bisimulations are compared with respect to their distinguishing power over timed located processes. The paper also emphasises the diversity of observational choices in tDπ (communication channel names, locations, types and timer values).

Normal Bisimulations in Calculi with Passivation

Behavioral theory for higher-order process calculi is less well developed than for first-order ones such as the π-calculus. In particular, effective coinductive characterizations of barbed congruence, such as the notion of normal bisimulation developed by Sangiorgi for the higherorder π-calculus, are difficult to obtain. In this paper, we study bisimulations in two simple higher-order calculi w...

Timed, Distributed, Probabilistic, Typed Processes

This paper studies types and probabilistic bisimulations for a timed π-calculus as an effective tool for a compositional analysis of probabilistic distributed behaviour. The types clarify the role of timers as interface between nonterminating and terminating communication for guaranteeing distributed liveness. We add message-loss probabilities to the calculus, and introduce a notion of approxim...

A Timed Calculus for Distributed Objects with Clocks

This paper proposes a formalism for reasoning about distributed object-oriented computations. The formalism is an extension of Milner's CCS with the notion of local time. It allows to describe and analyze both locally temporal and behavioral properties of distributed objects and interactions among them. We introduce timed bisimulations with respect to local time. These bisimulations equate dist...

Deriving Barbed Bisimulations for Bigraphical Reactive Systems

We study the definition of a general abstract notion of barbed bisimilarity for reactive systems on bigraphs. More precisely, given a bigraphical reactive system, we define the corresponding barbs from the contextual labels given by the IPO construction, in a general and systematic way. These barbs correspond to observe which names on the interface are actually involved in reactions (and how). ...

Sound Bisimulations for Higher-Order Distributed Process Calculus

While distributed systems with transfer of processes have become pervasive, methods for reasoning about their behaviour are underdeveloped. In this paper we propose a bisimulation technique for proving behavioural equivalence of such systems modelled in the higher-order π-calculus with passivation (and restriction). Previous research for this calculus is limited to context bisimulations and nor...
